GOLDTOP "BATTLE OF BRITAIN" 1940 RAF SHEEPSKIN FLYING JACKET - DARK BROWN
Regular price
$ 14,110.00
Save $ -14,110.00
This jacket is as classic as they come. Impeccable detail throughout, the Battle of Britain 1940 RAF jacket pays homage to the brave men of the Royal Air Force who took to the skies to defend the British Isles. Is there a more handsome looking jacket out there? Doubtful. If you want one, snap it up because these sell out fast each year and it's always a bit of a wait until the next production run.
Built for Britain’s Hardest Winter
In 1940, RAF fighter pilots faced conditions few garments were designed to withstand. Flying in unpressurised cockpits at altitude, exposed to freezing air and long patrols over the Channel. Warmth was not comfort, it was survival.
The sheepskin flying jacket is one of the defining silhouettes of the Battle of Britain: practical, rugged, and unmistakably British.
Our interpretation honours that original purpose while refining construction for durability, everyday wear, and a touch of luxury.
Each jacket is made from 100% British sheepskin, selected for pile depth, strength, and natural beauty. The dark brown exterior leather is complimented by ginger shearling. An iconic combination: as seen on the originals as issued by the Royal Air Force during World War II.
A dual-panel back replaces the quartered wartime construction, increasing strength and longevity without altering the iconic silhouette. Reinforced belt loops, box-stitched straps, and double-thickness stress points result in a jacket that is built to last, maturing gracefully and bearing the marks of each adventure.
A solid brass buckle and keep adorn the double-thickness belt to secure the waistline of the jacket. Solid brass double D rings at the reinforced collar strap seal the collar around the wearer, should conditions become foul.
Premium polished zips from YKK ensure reliable and smooth operation for the lifetime of the garment -guaranteed.
***Note: sizes 50 through 54 are special order and as such carry an additional $100 charge already included in the price shown as compared to standard sizes.***
