Unlike traditional riding shirts, this can be used all year round with the tape seamed Reissa membrane behind the outer flannel and a lightweight thermal lining to take the edge off colder rides. To care for your jacket, begin by lightly brushing off any dirt or soil, and use a cold damp cloth if necessary to wipe down the jacket. Clean it in this way regularly to maintain its appearance, but don’t be too harsh as the wax will be removed. You can re-wax the jacket with our Merlin Wax Cotton Tin when it loses its waxed finish and water begins to soak into the cotton rather than bead off. Merlin Edale II Cotec D3O Jacket
The second generation of our hugely popular Edale waxed cotton motorcycle jacket has arrived. With the greatest features of our first-generation technical waxed cotton this updated garment sees improvements fed back from years of consumers testing, from around the world. Constructed from 8oz Cotec, this Halley Stevensons®-Merlin collaboration fabric remains exclusive to Merlin and is half the weight but twice the strength of our traditional waxed cotton. Edale II makes use of Outlast® temperature regulating technology within the thermal liner, which can be zipped out if necessary and the garment has even better breathability with an up-spec Humax waterproof membrane. Other improvements include fit, closures, armour positioning, waterproof external pockets, trims and accessories, for an even more refined motorcycle garment.

Caring for your Edale II Cotec jacket
To care for your jacket, begin by lightly brushing off any dirt or soil, and use a cold damp cloth if necessary to wipe down the jacket. Clean it in this way regularly to maintain its appearance, but don’t be too harsh as the wax will be removed. You can re-wax the jacket when it loses its waxed finish and water begins to soak into the cotton rather than bead off. Please do not machine wash, tumble dry or use hot water on your jacket. Merlin Hixon II Leather Jacket
The original Hixon jacket was first released in 2016 and was a staple of the Merlin collection for many years. As part of the Hixon refresh we have kept the well-received super soft and supple leather and added in a number of new improvements. The first of these upgrades includes D3O® armour which sits in the shoulders and elbows. Hixon II then has a revised fit with a slightly longer length, new design details and crucially includes more ventilation – with three back vents and two chest ventilation points added.
Caring for your Hixon II jacket
Because of the ‘naked’ leather finish of Hixon II, we would recommend purchasing an aniline leather cleaner and an aniline leather guard. You can also buy aniline moisturiser to restore moisture to the Hixon at longer intervals. Please test any new cleaners on an inconspicuous area of the jacket first. Caring for your Icon Jacket
It’s important not to let dirt build up on your leather jacket, and any dirt can be removed using a sponge or a lint-free cloth, cold water and a small amount of neutral soap. You can also use a specialist pH neutral leather cleaner, though we would recommend testing this on an inconspicuous area of the jacket first. Merlin Jagger Urban Utility D3O Jacket
Fashion inspired with a touch of utilitarian. The Jagger Urban Utility D3O Jacket is one of the longer Merlin products and can be worn on weekend blasts as well as shorter commutes with both on and off the bike styling. Built using a premium 10k waterproof and 10k breathable Tactel laminate, rain instantly beads off the garment, preventing water soak. Inside the jacket is a stand alone synthetic down jacket, with a 500 power fill rating. Armour comes in the form of D3O’s highly ventilated LP1 shoulder and elbow, with provision for a back protector. Despite the casual styling Jagger is CE certified to level AA.

To care for your jacket, remove all armour from the shoulders, elbows and back and also any removable inner liners. Use a lint-free brush or cloth to really get into any especially dirty areas, then hand-wash the jacket with a mild or diluted detergent in lukewarm water.
